A German customer has contracted our services for custom medical app development. Initially, the plan was to try running such an application in one of the hospitals in Germany. If the application fits into the flow and improves the clinical experience, then this medical software development is intended to be rolled out to other hospitals in the country.

The Goal of the Hospital Mobile App Development

The purpose of the medical app development is to help patients build their daily schedule and medication timetable, to have reminders and a clear personal to-do list drawn up by their doctor. Also, the medical mobile app development was aimed to let patients create events visible to the doctors.

The customer brought in a design in Figma developed by a third-party freelance designer. The design did not take into account many important points, so it wasn't ready to be used in further development.

We offered to add sign-in via QR-code instead of entering a login and password.

Challenges Faced During Hospital Management Software Development

The main challenge was the customer's failure to be in continuous communication due to their busy schedule. As we practice being in touch throughout all of our projects, autonomous work was quite a leaving the comfort zone. Therefore, we were given the freedom to act and take decisions.

We were also faced with the complexity of the hospital mobile app design. With the admin panel, to be more exact. Due to the client's busy schedule, we were not always able to call him to coordinate many points regarding mobile healthcare software development. We had to think through the behavior of the admin panel by ourselves.

Medical Mobile App Design

As we mentioned, the customer reached out to us with a Figma sketch. Our designer took the existing design, made changes and corrections to it, fine-tuned it, and made it usable for further work. We re-drawn the existing sketch in Figma, finalized the requirements, and wrote the user story. The design turned out to be straightforward and user-friendly.

Like any other medical application, the app has to be accessible. We developed a high-contrast black-and-white layout for visually impaired people.

We also used special color palettes that passed accessibility tests for people with various types of color blindness.

Medical Mobile App Development in Action

We continue to render the services for outsourcing medical software development, but we used all of our best practices and classic steps required to create a medical assistant app.

Thanks to creative thinking, teamwork, extensive development experience, and personal experience in the field of healthcare services, we found solutions that would be useful for hospitals.

As for the code, the application was not super complex for our developers to create a patient daily care planner app, so classic development approaches were used. Everything was done in time. The customer was happy with the result as the main part of patient care app development was over.

It is also worth noting that during the testing phase, not a single bug was found. We didn't believe it at first! So we did some additional testing, which also did not reveal any bugs. So, this health tracker app development is quite a thing to be proud of.

For the visually impaired, we have added the option of the audio output of in-app information.
